Domestic violence Intervention Services

Domestic violence is a pattern of abusive behavior in any relationship that is used by one partner to gain and maintain power and control over another intimate partner. Domestic violence can be physical, emotional, psychological, sexual, economic and/ or digital. It can happen between married couples, dating couples, couples in live-in relationships or teenagers in a relationship. It happens in both heterosexual and same sex couples.

It happens in all economic statuses, genders, races, religions, and ages. However, statistically it has been proven than women are at more risk of being victims of domestic abuse. The percentage of women undergoing domestic abuse in the immigrant South Asian family is upwards of 40-60%.
